Interesting question - I guess the first part of the battle is to realize that you are in a FOG - not many people even agree to that.
Now I am no expert just sharing experience - if you have created the FOG - definately clear it without delay but if it is imposed on you because of circumstances beyond your control...wait and let it wither away....it will it has to :)
