I know it's been quite some time. A long post is due. Not now, for I have this stupid fever and everything that comes with the package :/
I wanted to know what the title means to you guys.. what does it reflect.. the word 'committed'..
For me, it's a very positive word. Don't ask me where I got that, but the impression somehow stays. A person who's committed to anything (good) gets attention and respect from me.
The word has majorly gained popularity post the Orkut Relationship-Status thing.. which brings me to how I got down to thinking about it.
This other day, I was telling Ma about this family friend I had connected with on Orkut recently and that he's committed and the like.. normal chit - chat.
A little later ma goes.. "You know.. when I hear 'committed' the first (and maybe the only) thing that strikes me is.. committed suicide! "

and while I was ROTFL , I realised how meaningful that could be! :P ( I know some committed people who've sufferred majorly ;) )
People I've talked to have given me different views on what the word means/reflects to them.
What's your take?
PS : Had this activity in class some days back.. which left an impression.. will blog on it next.. this weekend!

To me the word committed brings with it.. loads of respect for the committed soul... be it ur work, ur family or the special person in ur life... Committment makes it more beautiful and graceful :)

and be it for other things also, the thought of being committed is itself is a motivational thing to be more focussed on that..

To be honest, I thought this was going to be a declaration post, like you were committed to somebody or something. XD
I agree with you, being "committed" is one of the most precious qualities humans possess. Most importantly, humans can choose what they want to commit to, unlike animals, who stay committed only to their instincts.
So to me, it means the whole world. Isn't commitment and effort that drives the world?
I feel commitment (for anything) as the result of Love for it, and Love is what keeps people alive.

quite evidently, the word 'committed' when used alone, reminds me of relationships.
i don't believe in the word though.. how many so called 'committed' relationships last? why bother then? committed in relationships is a strong word...people don't really use it in the true sense of the word anymore. or rather, they don't mean it or stick to it.

Commitment 2 me is, giving ur whole n soul into something, anything. Something as insignificant as doodle.
Though the time/perseverance v can give into each commitment determines the amount of passion v have into it. But it is not necessary that v r passionate abt everything v commit into.

committed to me is very important word. Actually the most imp coz if u r not committed to the thing u do u r not gonna be a happy person at the end of the day u wud feel scattered just and spread not compact.

Hi,
Committed for me is just short of being foolish or being married (one and the same!). Yeah, I am happily married for years and forcibly made to admit it every time :-)
I guess this is a cue for all single guys out there. Change your status to committed and get all the respect from women. You can always claim later on that you broke off :-) Now that is very beatiful and graceful depending on how you look at it!
